For the kids: an educational experience as well!

   The Doukhobor Discovery Centre....
 

is not only an entertaining place to visit for adults, but for children as well!

Many tours we host are for children of schools nearby and we encourage other schools in the surrounding areas to consider a morning or afternoon 'field trip' as an educational extra-curricular alternative.

The Doukhobors played an important role in shaping the social / economic structure of the era (1908 and further) and the Discovery Centre acts as an excellent representation of the times.

Teachers and supervisors alike comment to us that the children get a surprising education of the era and have a better understanding of the Doukhobors' ways after a visit to the Centre. Many teachers have their students then do an essay on what they've learned. Or, in the case of younger students (as depicted above), the children do drawings of what they've experienced. These drawings were donated to us and we are grateful for both the children's visit - and their interpretation.
