One
of the highlights of the Peter’s Day on June 27th at the
Doukhobor Discovery Centre was the announcement and presentation
regarding The Psalmist Project.
Begun in 2008 for Heritage Week in February this project turned into a major production which resulted in a two hour DVD outlining the origins of psalm singing and touching on the entire Doukhobor history, particularly in Canada. In addition a two disc CD set was produced of the psalms recorded, featuring the participating psalmists in our area and Grand Forks. |

The project celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Doukhobor move to BC from Saskatchewan.
In the photograph above, Ron Mahonin, producer, speaks about the production prior to presenting the items to participating psalmists in attendance.
