This is a significant achievement as it will be a first government-sponsored online 'documentary' of the history of the Doukhobors and their relevancy to Canada. The project will cover the Doukhobors' duration and persecution in Russia, their emigration to Canada in 1899, their settlement and development of lands in Canada, and their subsequent land loss in Saskatchewan, the migration to and settlement in BC, and their 'assimilation' as citizens of Canada.

The Virtual Museum is expected to be online by September 2004.
